Gulmarg Gondola is the Asia's highest and longest cable car. It has two-stage, the first stage transfers from the Gulmarg resort at 2,600 m (8,530 ft) to Kongdoori Station in the bowl-shaped Kongdori valley and the second stage of the ropeway takes to a height of 3,747 m (12,293 ft) on Kongdoori Mountain, a shoulder of nearby Afarwat Peak (4,200 m (13,780 ft)). I will suggest to go up to second stage. One has to purchase separate tickets for both the stages. You have to stand on a queue to obtain the tickets for first stage (better purchase tickets online, if possible) and after reaching stage I, you have to obtain another ticket if you want to go to stage II. We enjoyed a lot at both the stage and experience at stage II was superb. It was snowing when we reach stage II.
